Finals Are Here

Okay SOOOOO I finally think I am there....I have a few touch ups that are normal usually though these are being done NEXT week so I guess I am pretty much there...I will try to take care of this in class so that I can leave on my weekend retreat in peace without worrying to much...overall I still have alot of work to accomplish but they are all little things. well this quarter has been A LOT of frustration but it was a learning process I guess moving in the middle of the quarter was crazy multiple health issues did not help much and recently getting a job that requires about 30-40 hours a week did not help things along with carrying 5 classes and doing the homework for those classes...sometimes I don't know how I do it. I guess it's my determination...I sometimes think I'm crazy but there is a goal to my madness...anyways here is my final...

Finally I have updated the images in my gallery section and added the images into my shopping cart along with descriptions. I still feel that perhaps the descriptions could feel use some touch ups in my shopping cart but I think I should leave it the way it is. The final task I have is to create a intro for my page. Other than that all updates Sharon asked of me to make have been made. Final Site

FLYER

See I told you I would post again tonight. So I have been working on a flyer to advertise my site of course I want simplistic. I do like what I ahve but I am sure that I need to work on it more but no more for tonight. alright I hope you like it.

ALMOST THERE

Okay so FINALLY, I have made progress with all my projects. I still have TONS to do but I am not going to push myself to hard (although some believe I will continue to over do it) because I have been going and going for almost 3 years now of constantly thinking of new ideas and trying to make something bigger and better...this does not mean I am not working hard to complete all my projects since officially now ALL my finals are due next week. It's ok though because I rather get them over with and not have any stress the last week of school besides showing up and taking test. So I basically am done with my final for Interaction Design for Entertainment here is the link Final Site

So now all I have left to do is
-create an opening transition (NOT PUSHING MYSELF) I just want to create something simple but interesting to catch the viewers eye.
-add my photos to the gallery (ONLY about 10)
-Add the ten to my shopping cart
-Maybe give the option for a couple more items to my shopping cart (NOT 100% sure yet)
-Create a flyer advertising the site
and that's about it...
I will post my flyer tonight I am currently working on it. Please give me feedback on both the site and the flyer.
After that I FINALLY can get some sleep and wake up at 8:30 to get ready for work then head to school come home SLEEP and friday go to work come home and begin a LONG weekend of NO sleep and getting ALL my projects complete so far 2 finals complete 3 to go. I can almost breath...thanks for reading my long ass post.

Finally it happened to me

ok so it looks like I FINALLY have made some huge progress on my site. I have the basic structure of my site done all content has been written for all my pages... the only thing I have left to do is:
Create my opening page
Figure out how to make lightbox work with my effects
add my photography and final testing
add e commerce portion to site

thats cake compared to what I had to do before...Thank god for labs

well I am now obsessed with finishing my finals by THIS weekend well at least get most of the work done for my final...

Production Continues

So Progress has been slow ESPECIALLY with my schedule lately...all I can say i can't wait until next quarter...I expect a definite slowdown...I hate my schedule but I just keep telling myself only a few more week in fact 3 more weeks...so do I panic? no not at all I know I will get it all done some time...I mean I should be able to find time between working 30 hours a week 5 classes 4 hours each and well we all know how important sleep is well I been trying NOT to kill myself this quarter even though it is not working much because between work and school (20hrs) trying to be the president of our true colors club at school and well obviously doing homework...well I guess I can push myself for 3 more weeks then I get one week of just working and hey only 2 real days of school next quarter I am SOOOOOOOOO looking forward to that even though I also have online classes but hey its only for the first 6 weeks of school and I can be logged in at work for that so no big deal...well anyways I continue production on my photography site right now I am trying to figure out an "Interesting, and compelling opening to my site...I have some ideas but still figuring out a way to implement my plan...oh well I guess I have tons of work to do tonight...then I have to wake up at 5 tomorrow...ok well back to class...i'll post more tomorrow...

So where do I begin? That's the question that I keep asking myself and it feels like I keep going in circles. Over the past week I finally have got myself in gear with starting the process of getting started with my final for my Interaction Design for Entertainment class. Production log check, content check, layout check (kind of)... See we were asked to create 3 compositions my hope was to create 3 versions of the same thing with slightly different ideas. The problem is I created 2 with the same layout slightly different designs and a third composition that looks completely different. My problem now is the creative juices have begun to flow and that can be dangerous for me especially this late in the quarter...usually i have time to work out the design details at the beginning since that is really when I begin working on layouts for my final project...well as I wrote earlier I have been in a sort of rut with design and school this quarter 3 years of designing ALL the time has really affected me creatively and I am really burnt out...luckily after this quarter my school schedule will be a little more relaxed 2 on ground and 2 online classes first section which means that the first 6 weeks will be a little busy but manageable but the second half should be heaven...well that and I will be on a full time schedule at work...ANYWAYS a little tangent there...

so I wonder will I get proper feedback tomorrow or will the boys be their usual selves and talk to each other instead of listening to the lecture (Sorry boys real talk here) anyways we shall see.... and NOW I present my 3 comps...

THE AHA MOMENT!

I told you it wouldn't be long before I post on here... So Sharon (My teacher) told us to investigate "Camtasia" (records movement on the monitor) she said perhaps it can help with projects. So, while playing with Camtasia I had an AHA moment as Sharon calls it... so I am also in another class with her called Interactive Design for Education I was thinking of creating an educational site about latin culture I mean a huge extensive site about latin culture around the world... However I started losing interest and really was stuck in a rut however after playing with camtasia I decided that I would change my final (Yes week 6 crazy huh?) I have an existing tutorial site: http://www.mgcdigitaldesigns.com/mixed_media/ it basically shows how to mix media and create a webpage... this site is meant is meant for someone who knows HTML already... So I decided I can broaden it by making it for beginners and so I could make the site even more dynamic. So I will start putting more content together and get going on this... YAY! Production Log 1 "Where do I begin"

Ok, so where do I begin? It's week 6 and I feel like I have virtually done nothing for my final...I mean I have done all my work for class but don't seem to be happy with it. I've been in a little slump lately. Is it the move? Is it me just being completely burnt out or is it me just being lazy. right now honestly I don't know. I do know this. I got a job yesterday and it inspired me to get going on my school work I have many ideas running through my head. Nothing solid yet. I guess what I should do is start with something as simple as this production log. Hmm... let me make a check list maybe I should start with some short term goals and then move on to long term goals. either way I need to list ALL of my task this will inspire me to get going.

Short term goals:
Create mock ups
Select imagery for my site
Retouch imagery if necessary
research technologies I am not familiar with so that I can get familiar with them (paypal, perhaps php so on etc...)
color scheme (inspiration)...
ok so I think that is enough for this week.

Long Term goals:
Start implementing site
fix any bugs research fixes
create an e-commerce portion to my site

ok so this is all I can think of for the moment if I think of anything else I will add it. Trust me there will be plenty LOTS more... I just need to get rolling on the project I am a little overwhelmed but will get over it I ALWAYS do...
